Job Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred
  • six months brokerage experience required
  • one year experience with customer contact required
  • data entry and keyboard experience required
  • working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook
  • ability to use office equipment including phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
  • excellent communication skills
  • organizational and interpersonal skills
  • problem solving skills
  • ability to handle high volume of work and time sensitive tasks
  • ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • ability to use multiple systems and reference material
  • interact effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management
  • knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules required

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred

  • CCS and/or Brokers license preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • engage with customers regarding commodities requiring specialized processing
  • obtain correct classification of goods for customs release
  • enter and process import documentation for submission to US Customs and participating Government Agencies
  • maintain shipment documentation compliance
  • adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
  • collaborate with internal staff, customers, and government agencies
  • process agency brokerage shipments
  • handle remote filings
  • perform entry reconciliations and reviews
  • follow up and resolve customs matters
  • ensure compliance with government and organizational policies
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • participate in paid training
