Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations and follow oral and written instructions
- Six months of experience in a custodial cleaning operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid California Driver's License
- Proof of liability damage insurance on vehicle used
- Willingness to undergo background check and fingerprinting
- Compliance with University of California vaccination policy
- Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations and follow oral and written instructions
- Six months of experience in a custodial cleaning operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid California Driver's License
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants
- Familiarity with safety and infection-control procedures
- Basic maintenance and equipment operation skills
Job Duties
- Sweep and mop stairs, hallways and outside areas
- Dust, clean, wax and/or polish furniture, woodwork, light fixtures, venetian blinds, grills, ducts, whiteboards, filing cabinets and other designated equipment
- Empty wastebaskets and recycling containers
- Mop, clean and disinfect restrooms and shower rooms with responsibility to replenish supplies
- Wash doors, glass, mirrors, showcases, glass panels, inside and outside windows at ground level
- Polish metal fixtures, wastebaskets and other receptacles
- Unclog minor drain stoppages
- Vacuum rugs, upholstered furniture, or other designated materials
- Operate floor buffers, shampoo machine, wet/dry vacuums, waxers, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines during stripping, waxing and buffing
- Have security responsibility for one or more assigned areas
- Assist in the setting up and dismantling of special equipment at functions
- Load and/or unload large trash receptacles
- Act as a work leader for small group of custodians
- Make reports on building and/or equipment needs
