Job Requirements

  • Experience maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in a high-volume kitchen or dining area
  • Experience in custodial cleaning and use of equipment such as buffers, floor machines, power washers, and vacuum cleaners
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures
  • Knowledge of healthy and safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment
  • Experience following job related directions and sanitation requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic English reading, writing, listening, speaking, and math skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in a high-volume kitchen or dining area
  • Experience in custodial operations and equipment use such as buffers, floor machines, power washers, and vacuum cleaners
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures
  • Knowledge of healthy and safe work practices, including personal protective equipment and SDS sheets
  • Ability to follow directions related to sanitation and job responsibilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic English and math skills related to safe and efficient job performance
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, establish priorities, and complete job objectives

Job Duties

  • Dispose trash, compost, recyclables, and other garbage from dining service areas
  • Clean containers, trash collection areas, and loading dock
  • Sweep, mop, buff, wax, and vacuum floors in various operational spaces
  • Clean and maintain dining service bathrooms and other assigned areas
  • Wash pots, pans, utensils, and steam jacketed kettles and put away clean items
  • Operate and maintain dish room and cleaning equipment including dish machine, floor scrubber, buffer, water vacuum, and steam cleaner
  • Set up tables and chairs in dining rooms and other facilities
  • Restock beverage machines and dispensers
  • Establish and maintain positive relations with customers
  • Respond to customer needs and report issues to managers
  • Complete daily, weekly, and special cleaning projects
  • Assist in maintaining supplies and cleaning equipment
  • Break down cardboard boxes
