Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in event planning student leadership development or related fields
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate volunteers
  • Experience with budget management and operational support
  • Knowledge of risk management principles especially related to animal welfare preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop student leaders
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Lead planning logistics and on-site execution for major university events including Homecoming Family Weekend Diadeloso and athletic engagement opportunities such as watch parties and spirit rallies
  • Coordinate volunteers and manage operational details for events
  • Provide secondary advisement to the Baylor Chamber of Commerce and guidance to the Bear Pit
  • Support student leadership development in collaboration with graduate apprentices and professional staff
  • Ensure mascot safety and welfare through risk management planning operational support and expert coordination
  • Mentor student leaders across Chamber and spirit organizations to facilitate engagement reflection and leadership growth
  • Assist with budgeting communications and daily program operations
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Comply with university policies and maintain regular and punctual attendance
