Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 3 years experience in food service or cook position
  • certifications required upon hire
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • capability to handle varying production levels
  • strong communication skills
  • punctuality and reliability
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • minimum 3 years food service or cook experience
  • knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
  • ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • understanding of dietary needs for various patient age groups
  • certification(s) required upon hire

Job Duties

  • Maintain professional interactions with co-workers, supervisors, and managers
  • prepare and cook foods such as meats, soups, sauces, gravies, starch entrees, vegetables, and special orders
  • follow all recipes and document temperatures on HACCP logs
  • stock and organize production and storage areas for next shifts
  • communicate needs and adjust production levels based on patient census
  • properly store, rotate, cover, label, and date all food products according to policy
  • prepare correct food quantities using proper measuring techniques
  • determine food temperatures and calibrate food thermometers correctly
  • identify correct utensils for accurate portion control
  • clean and operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
  • demonstrate proper hand washing and hygiene
  • provide meals catered to different patient age groups with respect and understanding
  • assist with patient and family centered care initiatives
