Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 3 years food service or cook position
  • ability to follow recipes and HACCP guidelines
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness
  • willingness to work flexible shifts
  • knowledge of food safety and handling procedures

  • knowledge of proper holding temperatures and HACCP requirements
  • ability to follow recipes and document food temperatures accurately
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • knowledge of patient and family-centered care principles

Job Duties

  • Maintain principles of proper food production
  • prepare and cook foods such as meats, soups, sauces, gravies, starch entrees, vegetables, and special orders
  • ensure food is prepared according to menu
  • confer with supervisors about use of leftovers and making necessary menu changes
  • maintain high standards of food handling and cleanliness in the work area
  • help provide optimal food and nutritional services to patients, visitors, and staff
  • maintain professional interactions with co-workers, supervisors, and managers
