Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • three years of experience as a cook
  • ability to work in a stressful environment
  • ability to perform physical activities including bending stooping climbing kneeling lifting carrying pushing pulling standing and walking
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • willingness to adhere to HACCP guidelines
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • assist with the development of menus for patients physicians the cafeteria and catering services
  • adhere to all applicable HACCP guidelines regarding the requisition storage handling and preparation of food
  • oversee scheduled meal preparation presentation and timely execution to ensure quality safety and service of the planned menu
  • follow monitor and insure accountability of standardized recipes in preparation of all food as well as complete required production records
  • review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared communicate to departmental leadership any shortages or concerns
  • assist departmental leadership with staff scheduling problem solving interviewing and evaluations
