Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience as a cook
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Availability to work day shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience as a cook
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, stressful environment

Job Duties

  • Assist with the development of menus for patients, physicians, the cafeteria and catering services
  • Adhere to all HACCP guidelines regarding requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food
  • Oversee scheduled meal preparation, presentation and timely execution to ensure quality, safety and service of the planned menu
  • Follow, monitor and ensure accountability of standardized recipes in preparation of all food and complete required production records
  • Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared and communicate any shortages or concerns to departmental leadership
  • Assist departmental leadership with staff scheduling, problem solving, interviewing and evaluations
