Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from college, technical school, or formal apprenticeship
  • One year of professional line cook experience may substitute for degree
  • National Food Handler Card required upon hire
  • One year experience in a full service establishment using fresh ingredients
  • Six months of high-volume line cooking experience
  • Ability to work per-diem on-site at Swedish Ballard
  • Compliance with health and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • One year professional line cook experience in a full service establishment using fresh ingredients and standardized recipes
  • National Food Handler Card upon hire
  • High-volume line cooking experience of at least six months
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • Strong culinary skills and creativity
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food products using basic and advanced cooking techniques
  • follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines
  • meet production schedules adhering to health, safety, and sanitary procedures
  • process food items ensuring proper utilization and storage
  • maintain orderliness and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work areas
  • participate in recipe and menu development
  • showcase culinary skills and products
