Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds
  • Background check required
  • Ability to work variable schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Experience with standardized recipes and production sheets
  • Knowledge of food service safety and sanitation standards
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance
  • Ability to order, requisition, store, and receive supplies effectively
  • Knowledge of food specifications such as meat buyer’s guide and USDA produce standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Mathematical ability to interpret and record production data
  • Strong reading and writing skills
  • Organizational skills to maximize productivity
  • Problem-solving abilities related to staff and equipment challenges
  • Experience in training programs
  • Knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food in a dining food service environment or catering operation
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment efficiently
  • Execute department standards for food handling, cleanliness, safety, and personal appearance
  • Coordinate food production and product presentation
  • Maintain quality control measures
  • Assist in training staff and student employees in recipe preparation
  • Manage inventory and supply ordering processes
