Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Recreation Health Gerontology or related field required
  • minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience required
  • valid driver's license
  • CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work well with others
  • ability to plan organize and prioritize work
  • knowledge of event management
  • working knowledge of office equipment and software
  • high customer service skills
  • maintain confidentiality
  • ability to manage multiple short and long term tasks in a fast paced environment
  • experience may substitute education on year for year basis

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Recreation Health Gerontology or related field
  • minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • ability to plan organize and create innovative activities
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • sound knowledge of event management
  • working knowledge of modern office equipment and software
  • high quality customer service skills with positive friendly and professional communication
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • supervision experience preferred
  • professional experience in recreation or with older adults preferred
  • cash handling experience highly desired
  • must possess a valid driver's license
  • CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Plan coordinate and manage all programs and activities at Chilson Senior Center
  • budget and secure facilities for programs
  • train part-time and volunteer staff
  • market and evaluate classes and activities
  • provide extensive customer contact and administrative support
  • supervise senior leisure interest activities and ensure safety protocols
  • manage front desk operations and customer engagement
  • develop and coordinate special events including sponsorship recruitment
  • recruit and train volunteers
  • coordinate with community health and social agencies to enhance programs
  • provide administrative support to Chilson Senior Advisory Committee
  • manage insurance based fitness program enrollments and process renewals and refunds
  • create and submit promotional articles to media
  • maintain correspondence files and office supplies organization
  • assist in emergency situations
  • perform other duties as assigned
