Job Requirements

  • 4-6 years catering sales and food and beverage experience
  • Proven leadership and performance evaluation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate of Arts or Sciences degree or Bachelor's degree with hospitality or culinary concentration preferred
  • 4-6 years catering sales experience combined with food and beverage experience
  • Proven track record of leadership and performance evaluation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite in Windows format
  • Ability to be available by company-provided cell phone
  • Experience with Momentus or similar event management software preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to represent the company effectively with employees, clients and guests
  • Ability to work self-directed in a team-oriented environment
  • High attention to detail and effective prioritization skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends and long hours

Job Duties

  • Provide full range of oversight to ensure successful onsite catered events and customer satisfaction
  • Plan, direct, coordinate and review work plans for events
  • Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
  • Assign work activities, projects and programs
  • Monitor work flow
  • Review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures
  • Oversee daily activities and development of Catering Sales Managers and Coordinators including BEO review and event assistance
  • Lead or participate in weekly Catering Sales Department meetings
  • Direct and provide feedback to management team during events in absence of AGM
  • Interview, select, train, motivate and evaluate direct reports
  • Provide or coordinate staff training
  • Work with employees to correct deficiencies
  • Implement discipline and termination procedures
  • Oversee planning, directing and managing day-to-day functions of the Catering Sales Department
  • Negotiate and submit finalized BEOs to Assistant General Manager and Executive Chef
  • Oversee event coordination
  • Ensure contract signatures, cut off dates, deposits are accurate and all contracts processed per company policies
  • Maintain group folders and master contracts ensuring all signatures are complete
  • Independently resolve and approve any revisions ensuring price quotes align with budget targets
  • Authorize and communicate BEO revisions to appropriate departments
  • Promptly respond to all customer needs and inquiries
  • Develop event concepts from client's visions and ideas
  • Develop strong customer relations through frequent, professional, courteous and ethical communication
