Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4-6 years catering sales experience combined with food and beverage experience
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite in Windows format
  • Ability to be available by company-provided cell phone
  • Experience with Momentus or similar event management software preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle pressure and time constraints
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, nights, weekends and long hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, culinary arts or related field preferred
  • 4-6 years of catering sales and food and beverage experience
  • Proven leadership with ability to provide clear direction and evaluate performance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with event management software like Momentus preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong attention to detail and effective prioritization
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends and extended hours

Job Duties

  • Provide full oversight to ensure successful onsite catered events and customer satisfaction
  • Plan, direct, coordinate and review event work plans
  • Meet with staff to resolve problems
  • Assign work activities, projects and programs
  • Monitor workflow
  • Review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures
  • Oversee daily activities and development of Catering Sales Managers and Coordinators including BEO review and event assistance
  • Lead and participate in weekly Catering Sales Department meetings
  • Provide feedback to management team during events in absence of Assistant General Manager
  • Interview, select, train, motivate and evaluate direct reports
  • Coordinate staff training and handle discipline and termination procedures
  • Manage day-to-day functions of Catering Sales Department with input from Assistant General Manager and Director of Catering
  • Negotiate and submit finalized BEOs to Assistant General Manager and Executive Chef
  • Oversee event coordination
  • Ensure contract signatures, cut-off dates and deposits are accurate and contracts processed per company policies
  • Manage group folders and master contracts ensuring accuracy and alignment with budget
  • Authorize and communicate BEO revisions to departments
  • Respond promptly to all customer needs and inquiries
  • Develop event concepts from client visions and ideas
  • Build strong customer relations through professional, courteous and ethical interaction
