Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or barista role
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic proficiency with technology such as registers and tablets
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Job Duties

  • Master key barista behaviors and skills including drink making and food preparation
  • Welcome customers warmly and create a hospitable café environment
  • Mentor and support new baristas, sharing knowledge and assisting with their development
  • Operate registers, tablets, and other technology efficiently while troubleshooting routine issues
  • Maintain the café counter and retail fixtures with effective merchandising and visual presentation
  • Manage the bake case with strong merchandising skills to keep it full and appealing
  • Support receiving, unpacking deliveries, and following FIFO inventory practices
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks to maintain café cleanliness and safety
  • Assist the bookfloor team when necessary
  • Identify and respond to theft and problematic behaviors using loss prevention procedures
  • Use product knowledge to make food and beverage recommendations and customizations
  • Educate baristas on proper beverage preparation techniques
  • Maintain backstock effectively and support ordering processes
  • Communicate company sales objectives and promotions confidently to customers and teammates
  • Demonstrate flexibility by filling scheduling gaps and supporting other stores as needed
