Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- minimum 3 years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
- strong leadership skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work full time on site
- familiarity with safety and sanitation standards
- ability to manage inventory and departmental equipment
- experience in scheduling and staff supervision
- customer service oriented
- problem-solving skills
Job Qualifications

Job Duties

- maintains and applies knowledge of all laws relating to events
- understands banquet operations impact on event success and maximizes customer satisfaction
- adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures
- ensures established sanitation levels are maintained
- manages departmental inventories and maintains equipment
- uses banquet beverage records to control liquor costs
- schedules banquet service staff while maximizing profits
- develops lasting relationships with groups for business retention and growth
- sets goals and delegates tasks to improve department performance
- conducts monthly department meetings
- applies knowledge of food and wine pairings and event trends
- acts as liaison to kitchen staff
- leads shifts and participates in event servicing
- sets positive example for guest relations
- interacts with guests to obtain feedback on quality and service
- responds to guest problems and complaints
- empowers employees to provide excellent service
- ensures employees understand expectations
- strives to improve service performance
- emphasizes guest satisfaction and continuous improvement
- reviews guest satisfaction results with employees
