Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license compliant with City of Houston policy
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Over ten years of directly related professional experience
  • Formal 4-year degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Professional certification or licensing
  • Capacity to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Readiness to pass pre-employment drug test and physical examination

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • More than ten years of professional experience in transportation or related field
  • Professional certification or licensing required
  • Proven leadership and project management skills
  • Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication and liaison skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee the management of Traffic Operations including Intelligent Transportation Systems programs
  • Manage street signs and pavement markings fabrication, installation, and maintenance
  • Ensure traffic signal maintenance and installation compliance
  • Manage vendor contracts for performance and delivery
  • Research and analyze new data, reports, and products to update policies
  • Lead multiple projects and initiatives to achieve strategic goals
  • Act as liaison to departments, agencies, and private sector
  • Develop strategic goals and define staff performance measures
  • Coordinate complex activities and implement timely solutions
  • Monitor and approve expenditures in line with budgets
