Job Requirements
- Bachelor of science degree with a concentration in accounting
- Four years of relevant accounting experience
- Basic knowledge of accounting and office practices
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency with accounting software including Office 365, PowerPlan, Paycom, and SAP
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computerized tasks
- Good dexterity in hands, wrists, fingers, and arms
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of science degree with a concentration in accounting
- Four years accounting experience in a similar role
- Payroll experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of accounting and office practices
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerPlan, Paycom, and SAP
- Analytical skills with attention to detail

Job Duties
- Oversee daily responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist
- Enter accounts payable on a daily basis
- Execute weekly check runs and manage annual 1099 filings
- Reconcile bank statements monthly
- Prepare monthly journal entries related to accounting responsibilities such as prepaid expenses, payroll, benefits, fixed assets, accruals, and revenue
- Maintain lease accounting software
- Analyze monthly account variances and reconcile differences
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly sales tax reports
- Compile monthly financial statements including supporting schedules for management and Board of Directors
- Assist with welfare claim exemption and business property tax filings
- Support preparation of annual budget, year-end audit, and tax schedules
- Serve as backup for payroll and select HRIS responsibilities
- Support the Director of Finance with accounting projects as requested
