Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
- Previous reception work preferred or related experience
- Flexibility with work hours, including potential early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
- Ability to work on-site in Salem, Oregon State Capitol
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and an impartial, non-partisan perspective
- Must attach a resume and cover letter clearly stating experience and applicability
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
- Previous reception work preferred or related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Capitol building layout and services
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and respond promptly in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor
- Familiarity with general office equipment
Job Duties
- Work in tandem with Senate staff to control ingress and egress to the chamber floor during floor session adhering to Senate rules and customs
- Aid in enforcing rules of decorum as prescribed by the Rules of the Senate
- Greet and assist the general public with questions concerning the Senate and Capitol building
- Respond efficiently to visitor questions
- Compile and keep daily reports and make them available to the general public
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in a political environment
- Use general office equipment such as computer, copier, and telephone
