Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow oral and/or basic written instructions as might normally be acquired through 9 to 11 years of formal schooling
- six months of related experience
- must have a valid Texas Class C driver's license and comply with City of Houston's driving policy
- able to pass a criminal background check
- obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances
- willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- able to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting objects over 80 pounds, bending, climbing steps
- ability to make coordinated motor movements in response to external stimuli
- compliance with safety policies and random drug testing
Job Qualifications

- valid Texas Class C driver's license
- preference for experience in hard floor care maintenance or custodial services
- bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
- certification toward related experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Performing commercial janitorial services by cleaning and maintaining multi-unit and single restrooms, trash removal, cleaning hard surface floors, window cleaning, vacuuming, and shampooing carpeted areas, high dusting, and emergency response biohazard cleaning services
- operating a large variety of cleaning equipment, machines, tools to perform a variety of heavy cleaning tasks including scrubbing and polishing floors, stripping and sealing floors, steam cleaning furniture
- operating two-way radios
- monitoring inventory control of cleaning supplies
- performing basic maintenance and repairs to structures, facilities and equipment (housekeeping activities)
- furniture moving and unloading
- operating vehicles to and from work locations
- performing additional miscellaneous assignments as required
