Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior custodial or cleaning experience is an asset
- Ability to work part-time evening shifts totaling 15 hours per week
- Must be able to lift and carry medium to heavy objects
- Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Commitment to adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Must be physically able to perform cleaning duties continuously during shift
Job Qualifications
- Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously
- Experience handling medium to heavy weight materials and equipment
- Familiarity with cleaning and disinfecting procedures
- Ability to work in environments exposed to dirt, dust, detergents, body wastes, and odors
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning and equipment operation
Job Duties
- Operates housekeeping and floor maintenance machines to strip, wax, and buff floors
- Wet mops, dry mops, sweeps, and dusts floors
- Performs cleaning and disinfecting procedures including fogging rooms and washing surfaces with germicidal detergents
- Washes walls, ceilings, stairs, and cleans overhead equipment like vents and light fixtures
- Empties wastebaskets and picks up trash, loading into dump trucks and pushing to compactor areas
- Cleans kitchens, dining areas, and handles general custodial duties such as moving equipment, tightening fixtures, and changing light bulbs
- Maintains cleanliness of storage areas and equipment
- Performs other similar duties as assigned
