Job Duties
- Assist in gathering food supplies and equipment for cooks
- Assist in the preparation of food
- Perform grill and broiler activities independently
- Tend foods that are cooking and test for progress
- Adjust cooking time and temperature as directed
- Prepare beverages and special diet foods
- Peel, wash, trim, and cut vegetables, fruit, meat, cheese, and other foods
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Prepare servings of food and make up patient trays
- Serve food onto food trucks or containers
- Observe precautions against deterioration and degradation of foods
- Remove food from carts when returned and store properly
- Clean utensils, equipment, and work area
- Obtain and arrange food, supplies, and utensils
- Prepare ovens, fryers, and grills
- Obtain food trucks, containers, and trays as needed
