Job Requirements
- Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Valid NC driver's license
- Over three years of successful law enforcement experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Current certification as a law enforcement officer
- Must be willing to work day and/or evening shifts as needed
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of NC general statutes and local ordinances
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Current certification as a law enforcement officer through NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission or NC Sheriff's Education and Training Standards Commission or possession of an equivalent out-of-state certification
- Over three years of successful law enforcement experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of NC general statutes and local ordinances
- Preferred experience at a college or university and writing/enforcing safety policies
Job Duties
- Travel to all campus locations on a regular basis to confer with lead security guards and review security protocols
- Educate officers in the prevention and deterrence of crime and violation based on the college's policies
- Provide for traffic control on a daily basis and during special functions such as graduation and registration
- Provide for handicap parking and other special event parking as appropriate
- Perform the duties and responsibilities of a campus security officer
- Assist in ensuring college compliance with the Clery Act
- Assist in reviewing all initial incident, crime, and accident reports and ensure that follow-up investigations are conducted as needed
- Help develop and maintain proper staffing levels by providing direct feedback to the director
- Maintain operational procedures for activities such as traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of students
- Investigate accidents and acts that violate college policy
- Enforce criminal and traffic laws on campus
- Respond to emergency calls
- Assist in collecting and securing evidence concerning crimes on campus
- Assist in the preparation of statistical reports required by the college, state, and federal agencies
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
