Job Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- hold an active Security Guard license
- have legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada depending on work location
- complete ramp and SIDA training to attain necessary airport security identification
- be able to secure a Customs Seal if required by role
- be physically able to walk and stand frequently and for extended periods
- be alert to moving vehicles and aircraft and able to use radio equipment
- able to work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises
- maintain professional presentation and customer service orientation
- exhibit good communication skills
- demonstrate problem-solving abilities
- manage time effectively
- be willing to receive cross training for emergency assistance
Job Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent
- possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- must have an active Security Guard license
- if work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- if work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001
- must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security
- if required by customer or role access, be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency
- preferred qualifications - one+ year of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Consult with previous shift supervisor for ongoing assignments
- schedule guard assignments and dispatch officers to assigned posts
- coordinate with Safety & Training department to ensure all security guards complete required training
- make recommendations to management on discipline, promotions, demotions, and terminations
- brief security officers on operational issues for the shift and check for proper grooming and uniform
- ensure all posts all covered on an hourly basis for proper coverage
- write reports of daily activities and irregularities
- carry out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature as required for the assigned post
- transport pilots to and from desired destinations
- maintain security of the cargo and company's equipment
- observe that cargo has not been tampered with or that pilferage has taken place
- report incidents to supervisor as needed
- maintain work area in clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as needed
- complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments pertaining to procedures and enter data into company's information system as required
- follow company procedures and protocols to ensure we are always operating in a safe and responsible manner
- be willing to receive cross training for all contracted posts in order to assist departments and clients during an emergency incident
- complete all training when required by company, airport governing authority, or customer when required
- be on time, be prepared, and be safe
- be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
