Job Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in security or public safety or customer service
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to emergency situations
- Must successfully pass background check drug screening and physical examination
- Possession of valid driver’s license
- Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) to be obtained within 2 years of employment
- Stop the Bleed Certification to be obtained within 1 year of hire
- Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card or Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license
- Certification in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days of hire
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking standing sitting and lifting up to 35 lbs
- Must have 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20 with lenses
- Ability to communicate clearly over radio and telephone
- Illinois team members must complete State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in security related public safety or customer service including emergent situations response and risk resolution
- Ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning with courteous and tactful demeanor
- Demonstrated experience assessing dangerous situations and appropriate response
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word Excel and database entry
- Ability to communicate effectively via radio and telephone with clear diction
- Must pass background investigation drug screen pre-placement physical and post-offer requirements
- Completion of Illinois State 20-hour Basic Security Officer course for Illinois team members
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and create collaborative solutions
- Knowledge of behavioral threat assessment is preferred
- Familiarity with use of force review and crime prevention through environmental design is preferred
- Ability to present material and facilitate meetings is preferred
Job Duties
- Provides security services with a customer-service approach focusing on professionalism fairness and compassion
- Inspires confidence in patients visitors and team members by presenting a professional approachable and service-oriented appearance and demeanor
- Performs routine interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security including inspections for vulnerabilities hazards and fire conditions
- Responds to workplace violence incidents service calls involving combative or threatening individuals
- Uses de-escalation techniques including conducted electrical weapons and handcuffing when necessary
- Plans prevents practices and responds to emergencies such as lost children fires and active threats
- Investigates incidents on property completes accurate reports and escalates complaints to appropriate leaders
- Performs liaison rounding duties to build partnerships with departments and delivers security awareness education
- Coordinates with federal state and local law enforcement and monitors prisoner patient guards
- Maintains training standards in radio communications verbal de-escalation hemorrhage control CPR and conducted energy weapons
- Assists with traffic and crowd control including parking enforcement and valet parking assistance
