Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in security related public safety or customer service including emergent situation response
  • Obtain Security Officer Healthcare Certification within 2 years
  • Obtain Unarmed Guard License (NC) within 1 year if applicable
  • Obtain Stop the Bleed Certification within 1 year
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Firearm Owners Identification Card or Concealed Carry Weapon license
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days of hire
  • Successfully pass background check drug screen pre-placement physical
  • Complete State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course (Illinois team members)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be physically able to perform job duties including walking standing lifting and restraining as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) within two years of appointment
  • Unarmed Guard License for North Carolina teammates within one year
  • Stop the Bleed Certification within one year of hire
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card or Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license for taser use
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days of hire
  • Completed State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course for Illinois team members
  • Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to use computer applications for documentation and reporting

Job Duties

  • Provides security services with a customer-service approach focusing on professionalism fairness and compassion
  • Inspires confidence in patients visitors and team members by presenting a professional approachable and service-oriented appearance and demeanor
  • Performs routine interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security including inspections audits patient valuables management and contraband searches
  • Responds to workplace violence service calls and threatens incidents with de-escalation techniques and use of force when necessary
  • Serves as a primary resource in emergencies such as lost infants fire active threats and responds immediately to crisis situations
  • Investigates incidents on property completes accurate reports and escalates complaints appropriately
  • Liaises with law enforcement and first responder agencies and coordinates law enforcement prisoner patient guards
