Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
  • possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • be able to undergo a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • undergo drug screening as permitted by law
  • licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment
  • possess a valid driver's license for driving positions only
  • willingness to work part-time shifts, including days on Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM respectively
  • comfortable using a computer or tablet
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws

Job Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in security or similar roles is preferred but not required
  • basic computer skills to use Claim a Shift platform and site-specific technology
  • effective communication and customer service skills
  • ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • knowledge of standard security protocols and procedures
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
  • guard card or license is preferred

Job Duties

  • Control access to the location by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors in accordance with site-specific procedures
  • monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or breaches of protocols
  • provide customer service to all individuals entering the premises, answering questions and offering directions as needed
  • respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including following proper notification and escalation procedures
  • conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and/or security-related concerns
  • document observations and security-related incidents according to Allied Universal and client protocols
  • support emergency response activities as directed, assisting with the implementation of site policies and procedures
  • maintain awareness of site-specific policies, especially those related to food and beverage environments, and uphold them throughout assigned duties
