Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • must be open minded and ready to work as part of a detail-oriented team

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a local (in-state) resident
  • must have valid driver’s license
  • ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • ability to pass up to a 10-year background check
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • must complete SIDA training if needed to obtain airport authority identification security
  • must have valid security guard card
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong work ethic
  • ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • strong attention to detail
  • able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment
  • able to communicate effectively in a professional manner
  • knowledge of security principles and practices

Job Duties

  • Oversees daily operations at sites
  • train new employees
  • maintain established processes that support the airport and airline security processes and regulations
  • search and inspect airline catering carts and vehicles
  • ensure compliance with all company standard operating procedures and policies
  • work in cooperation with other associates to inspect carts
  • assist in compiling data for inspection incident statistics
  • document inspection activities on required paperwork for statistical purposes
  • provide consistent access control through verification of guest and employee credentials
  • perform perimeter, parking lot, and building patrol on foot or in vehicle
  • provide direction and answer questions to assist guests and employees
  • open and close gates, proactively secure and control areas as needed
  • admit and control incoming traffic
  • inspect identification and vehicle decals
  • monitor closed circuit systems and alarms
  • inventory keys, radios and other equipment and issue keys to the contractor
  • handle all building emergency alarms including fire, elevator entrapment, intercom and so forth
  • advise management team of any emergency or security incident for appropriate resolution
  • patrol and document security related inquiries from tenants, employees and the general public
  • perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position
