Job Requirements

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Hold a state security license (BSIS Guard Card)
  • Be 21 years old or older
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Vehicle Patrol Officer
  • Ability to pass an extensive screening process
  • Ability to operate a vehicle for extended periods
  • Strong observational skills
  • Ability to write reports
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Physically fit for walking, standing, and driving long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Provide documentation of high school diploma or GED
  • Hold a state security license (BSIS Guard Card) and additional 32hr BSIS security trainings (additional training can be obtained during hiring)
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Vehicle Patrol Officer
  • Pass an extensive screening process
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely for extended periods
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Be physically fit to walk, stand, and drive for long periods
  • Security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
  • First aid certification preferred
  • Foster a culture of servant leadership and employee engagement

Job Duties

  • Patrol designated rail yards, facilities, and surrounding property along assigned routes using a company vehicle, focusing on staging lanes and trailer areas
  • Conduct perimeter checks and monitor access points to prevent unauthorized entry or trespassing
  • Inspect fences, gates, railcars, and buildings for signs of tampering, damage, or suspicious activity
  • Deter theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity through visible security presence
  • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed
  • Write detailed incident and activity reports, logging observations and actions during shifts
  • Ensure compliance with client safety protocols, security policies, and federal regulations
  • Monitor and report hazardous conditions impacting rail operations or employee safety
  • Perform vehicle inspections before and after use
  • Patrol sensitive areas to spot suspicious activity
  • Verify identities and control access to secure areas
  • React quickly to threats or incidents
  • Check proper functioning of alarms and cameras
  • Document incidents and actions taken
  • Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
  • Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
  • Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property
