Job Requirements
- Must be able to walk and stand on a frequent basis and for extended periods
- Must be able to be alerted to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions around jet and machinery noises
- Must have professional presentation and customer service-oriented attitude
- Good communication skills to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively
- Problem-solving skills to assess security concerns and follow reporting procedures
- Time management skills to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001
- Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security
- If required by customer or role access, be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency
- Must obtain Security Guard Card within 90 day probation period
- Preferred qualifications - one+ year of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Monitor and maintain controlled access of the aircraft entrance and its surroundings
- Screen individuals and their belongings prior to aircraft boarding or airport operation area entry
- Search aircraft for unauthorized material and/or personnel
- Transport pilots to and from the aircraft to their destinations
- Inspect items using x-ray viewing equipment to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation
- Maintain working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures, and regulations
- Report all suspicious items or activity to management to determine the correct course of action
- Maintain security of cargo and any company equipment
- Observe that cargo has not been tampered with or that pilferage has not taken place
- Maintain work area in clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as needed
- Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments pertaining to procedures and enter data into company’s information system as required
- Follow company procedures and protocols to ensure we are always operating in a safe and responsible manner
- Complete all training when required by company, airport governing authority, or customer when required
- Be on time, be prepared, and be safe
- be willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
