Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • must have high school graduation or equivalent
  • proficient in English verbal and written
  • must have valid identification
  • must be able to obtain and possess Nevada Gaming Registration Card, Alcohol Awareness Card (AES/TAM), First Aid and CPR certifications
  • must present a well-groomed appearance
  • must undergo eight hours of ASP (baton) training
  • flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • able to work and stand inside and outside in extreme temperatures
  • able to physically restrain individuals when required
  • able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations
  • able to work independently
  • able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces and stairs
  • able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, push or pull up to 150 pounds
  • able to observe and remember specific details of incidents and persons
  • able to give court testimony and write detailed reports
  • able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust
  • must pass physical and written tests of Western Division Security Academy within first ninety days
  • must re-certify through Western Division Security Academy between years 2 and 3
  • comply with all physical, mental and environmental demands as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • proficient in English verbal and written communication
  • valid identification
  • ability to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming Registration Card
  • possession of Alcohol Awareness Card (AES/TAM)
  • certification in First Aid and CPR
  • completion of eight hours of ASP (baton) training
  • knowledge of security operations and surveillance systems
  • strong communication and multitasking skills
  • ability to provide medical assistance as a first responder
  • experience in conducting investigations and incident documentation
  • problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • understanding of use of force policies
  • ability to interact courteously with guests and team members

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and fellow team members with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • communicate effectively with patrons over the telephone presenting a pleasant and courteous personality
  • verify that all required equipment is on hand and functioning properly
  • perform data entry for all applicable programs
  • remain calm and professional during stressful situations
  • multitask handling phones, radio, monitors, camera locations and operation
  • routinely review accessible video cameras and report malfunctions
  • maintain knowledge of camera coverage and required sequencing for incident reviews
  • monitor alarm systems and notify emergency personnel upon activation
  • continuously patrol the property ensuring safety and adherence to laws, policies, and procedures
  • exercise good judgment in problem-solving and resolving customer complaints
  • provide accurate and detailed directions regarding property attractions and amenities
  • aid civil and law enforcement authorities including testimony in court
  • provide medical assistance as a first responder using first aid and CPR techniques
  • interview, investigate, and document incidents requiring security intervention
  • enforce all company policies and procedures
  • meet required attendance guidelines and adhere to all company and department policies
  • respond promptly to dispatched areas of need
  • conduct slots, pit poker, and other drops in compliance with Nevada Gaming law
  • follow departmental policy on use of force during arrests and detentions
