Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to manage multiple phone lines
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • professional demeanor and service orientation
  • reliable attendance
  • successful completion of a criminal background check including screening for violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • proficiency in the use of a personal computer with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software, printer, fax machine, copier, telephone, and adding machine
  • high level understanding of internet usage
  • ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects
  • demonstrated service-oriented and professional demeanor when interacting with the public
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff
  • working knowledge of each city department and the services they provide

Job Duties

  • Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers
  • maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees especially members of their own team
  • have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive
  • serve as the initial point of contact for the Mayor's Office
  • provide information and assistance to the public
  • responsible for answering multiple phone lines, evaluating inquiries, and addressing questions, complaints, or concerns or directing them to the appropriate person or department for a resolution
  • receive, date stamp and distribute incoming mail daily
  • assist in the preparation and distribution of City Council Meeting packets both in digital and print
  • monitor city hall via video cameras from the Mayor's Office and assist people as needed
  • assist the Mayor's office in coordinating special events for city hall meetings
  • monitor and manage office and hospitality supplies on a daily basis to ensure they are fully stocked and readily available
  • perform other duties as required or assigned
