Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum two years cooking experience in a high-volume food and beverage environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to shifting schedules
  • Ability to adapt to varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, and chemicals
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene and comply with health and safety regulations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize
  • Ability to work safely with kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and stair use

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum two years of cooking experience in food and beverage industry preferably in high-volume environments
  • Ability to positively interact with others in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen set-up, tear-down procedures, and food safety practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently with culinary tools and equipment
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Strong organizational and clean work habits
  • Ability to execute job duties with minimal direction
  • Understanding of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and positive attitude under pressure

Job Duties

  • Assist with food preparation, production, plate-up, and clean-up
  • Store and stock food and supply deliveries according to guidelines
  • Complete required opening and closing kitchen duties
  • Wash, handle, monitor, label, cut, and cook cold and hot foods according to health standards
  • Organize event food products and supplies and maintain par levels
  • Conduct bi-monthly inventories and promptly notify supervisors of shortages
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen equipment, coolers, and storage areas
  • Safely operate kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Assist with cooking methods including frying, grilling, baking, and sautéing
  • Respond to basic food and beverage inquiries
  • Accurately execute kitchen closing tasks in a timely manner
  • Adhere to company and foodservice policies, OSHA and health regulations
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and harassment-free work environment
  • Work irregular schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays with potential shift adjustments
