Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Four or more years of related work experience
- ServeSafe certification required or to be obtained within 90 days
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving foodstuffs
- Must comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Four or more years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation and cash-handling preferred
- ServeSafe certification (or willingness to obtain within first 90 days)
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and produce quality meals
- Skill in advanced knife handling and food preparation techniques
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Experience assisting in supervision or training of kitchen staff preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish
- Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following regulatory procedures
- Comply with HACCP policies and participate in safety meetings and training
- Produce small to large batch goods using classical and contemporary cooking techniques
- Follow complex recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving various food items
- Assist in supervising kitchen personnel and training less experienced cooks
- Select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs, and prepare meals for special diets
- Serve as lead cook guiding and assisting in training
- Perform advanced cooking duties under minimal supervision
- Demonstrate advanced knife skills
- Oversee production staff and assign tasks
- Use production software for data entry and inventory management
- Perform other duties as assigned
