Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Four or more years of related work experience
  • ServeSafe certification required or to be obtained within 90 days
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving foodstuffs
  • Must comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Four or more years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation and cash-handling preferred
  • ServeSafe certification (or willingness to obtain within first 90 days)
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and produce quality meals
  • Skill in advanced knife handling and food preparation techniques
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
  • Experience assisting in supervision or training of kitchen staff preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station
  • Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish
  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following regulatory procedures
  • Comply with HACCP policies and participate in safety meetings and training
  • Produce small to large batch goods using classical and contemporary cooking techniques
  • Follow complex recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving various food items
  • Assist in supervising kitchen personnel and training less experienced cooks
  • Select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs, and prepare meals for special diets
  • Serve as lead cook guiding and assisting in training
  • Perform advanced cooking duties under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate advanced knife skills
  • Oversee production staff and assign tasks
  • Use production software for data entry and inventory management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
