Job Requirements

  • NRA ServSafe certification
  • MRA Allergen certification
  • Minimum 2-3 years of institutional cooking experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good human relations skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment

Job Qualifications

  • MRA Allergen certification required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of large volume institutional cooking experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient in reading and writing English
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse staff
  • Outstanding human relations skills
  • Able to operate basic kitchen equipment
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks large quantities of food according to recipes
  • Assists in the organization of the kitchen for proper food preparation
  • Participates in breakfast, lunch, receptions, dinner and catered events
  • Hand carves and sauté food items at catered events
  • Demonstrates knowledge of health code sanitation and safety standards
  • Assists in the training of cook's helpers, food service workers, and students
  • Monitors preparation and cooking of food in assigned area
  • Assists in transportation and delivery of food and equipment for special function catering
  • Ensures food is properly panned and garnished in a timely manner
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
