Job Requirements
- Able to frequently operate cash register
- Capable of moving merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds
- Able to retrieve and put away merchandise placed up to 5 to 10 feet high
- Frequently ascend and descend ladders as part of stock management
- Comfortable kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping on the sales floor and stockroom
- Frequently communicate face-to-face and by telephone with customers, managers, and coworkers
- Able to move across sales floor and stockroom efficiently
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekend, overnight, and travel shifts as required
- Able to comprehend and implement instructions from emails and printed materials
- Must remain stationary in an upright position for approximately 80 percent of the time
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years old
- Available to work a flexible schedule
- Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and mobile devices
- Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
- Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally
- Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
- Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers promptly
- Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and offering recommendations
- Promote store events and promotions to enhance customer experience and drive sales
- Resolve customer concerns and offer alternative solutions to encourage exchanges over returns
- Communicate restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store and company goals
