Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Accountability, initiative and a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Physical capacity to move continuously for 6-8 hours per shift including bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds for stock and fulfillment roles
Job Qualifications

- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic proficiency with technology including point-of-sale and inventory systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
- Physical ability to handle merchandise and perform sustained physical activity
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms, including operating point-of-sale systems and handling bulky items
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor
- Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer orders following packing and shipping standards
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
- Provide general support to the store such as setting up special events, organizing backroom, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures
