Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts based on business needs
- Physical capability to continuously move for 6-8 hours per shift including bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching
- Ability to handle bulky and heavy items, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds for stock and fulfillment roles
- Accountability and initiative
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of inventory management
- Physical ability to lift and move merchandise as required
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms including operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items of all sizes, handling bulky items and boxes, and ensuring a seamless and friendly experience
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor
- Create a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor
- Keep the stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customers orders following quality, packing and shipping standards
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
- Provide general support to the store such as setting up special events, organizing backroom, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures
