Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university internship program
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to supervise youth and maintain safety
- basic computer literacy including word processing and spreadsheet software
- willingness to obtain or possess lifeguard, cpr/aed and first-aid certification
- ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- commitment to professionalism and team collaboration
Job Qualifications
- Internship requirement through an accredited university
- general working knowledge of computers and computer programs such as word, excel and publisher
- current certification as a lifeguard, cpr/aed and first-aid certification (train on-site if you do not have certification already)
Job Duties
- Perform computer and registration operations and support recreation programming
- respond to guest questions and concerns in a courteous and professional manner and resolve issues in accordance with North Liberty Recreation Center policies and guidelines
- provide direct supervision of youth participants to ensure safety, positive engagement, and appropriate behavior
- enforce facility rules and administer patron discipline fairly, consistently, and respectfully as needed
- assist with program planning and implementation and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse and growing community
- demonstrate professionalism by serving as a positive role model and supporting decisions made by fellow staff and administration
- maintain open, effective communication with supervisors and team members to support smooth operations and teamwork
- assist with desired operations, specifically recreation, aquatics, or before and after school program
