Job Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License
  • Satisfactory completion of background check, including driving record with no more than 4 points currently on record, work history, and criminal conviction history
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Prior experience in hospitality, event management, or museum services preferred
  • Ability to work non-traditional shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to follow written and oral instructions independently
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Provide a positive and professional experience for all Museum patrons by assisting with questions and sharing relevant information
  • Handle money and process transactions at the front desk and during public programs with high accuracy
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, ensuring all buildings are secure and prepared for public or private use
  • Assist with event logistics before, during, and after programs, including setting up and breaking down tables and chairs, monitoring spaces, enforcing facility rules, and performing custodial duties to keep the Museum clean
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and Museum and City staff
  • Perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and carrying objects up to 50 pounds such as event equipment or light shoveling
  • Handle the physical setup and removal of tables, chairs, and equipment for all events
