Job Requirements

  • Valid US work authorization
  • Minimum one year experience as an assistant manager or higher in food and beverage
  • Availability to work full time from April through September
  • Flexibility to work early morning, mid-day, evening shifts as well as weekends and holidays
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and control expenses
  • Comfortable working in a luxury hospitality environment

Job Qualifications

  • One or more years' previous experience as an Assistant Manager or above in Food and Beverage
  • Knowledge of Napa Valley and surrounding areas highly desirable but not required
  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel operation overseeing restaurant and/or pool
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in managing budgets and financial controls
  • Experience with relevant technology systems such as Opera, Simphony, Open Table, iRis, Medallia, and Avero
  • Ability to train and motivate staff
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service and quality standards

Job Duties

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees at the Pool
  • Assist with establishing the long-term strategic planning for the Pool operations
  • Organize all documentation for shift work on a daily basis including pre-shift reports, daily training topics, shift floor plan, requisitions for beverage, food and sundries and manage labor on a daily basis through the time management system
  • Ensure all staff are meeting all established standards of service through ongoing and recurrent training systems
  • Monitor and test service skills of staff, retrain and reinforce all standards on food and quality and service details daily
  • Provide feedback and appraisals as necessary
  • Plan and conduct meetings for outlets on a monthly basis to ensure staff is correctly communicated with and that staff are consistently trained and well-motivated
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings to ensure good cross communication between departments
  • The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts
  • Set up and manage all information technology systems required for the operations: Opera, Simphony, Open Table, iRis, Medallia, Avero and other
  • Assist in the development of marketing initiatives, menu items, and other items to stimulate growth in sales for each outlet and a variety of latest market developments
  • Be aware of and assist to control current budgeted and forecasted revenues, payroll, and product costs
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed
  • Market ideas to promote the business, reduce employee turnover

  • Manage two pools, service from CAMPO Restaurant to guests, all pool activities and programs, and cabana rental program
  • Describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience for Pool services
  • The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and Chefs to design effective menus and amenity options while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control
