Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 2-year work experience in a related field
  • Must have a current food handler's card
  • Applicant must be in good physical health as this position requires lifting of heavy objects
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • Some knowledge of advanced food preparation techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of grill, fryer, slicer, and other kitchen equipment
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Must know food safety standards to ensure the safety of guests
  • Applicant must be in good physical health as this position requires lifting of heavy objects

Job Duties

  • Assist in all aspects of the Head Cook’s position to take over the lead if and when necessary
  • Assist in prep and cooking of the main course portion of all meals
  • Work closely with staff members to carry out duties and tasks assigned
  • Maintain proper food safety and handling and maintain a safe work environment
  • Assist in serving and clean up as needed
  • Maintain safe cooking holding temps on food being served
  • To maintain first in first out rule
  • Check freezers, refrigerators, and dry goods to ensure they are properly dated
  • Maintain a clean environment and safe work habits for all employees
  • Work closely with the head cook to gain knowledge on ordering, scheduling, and meal planning, working with other departments
  • Assist training employees on the safe and proper maintenance
  • Must be able to work any shifts
  • Other duties may be assigned
