Job Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
- Culinary training preferred
- ServSafe training certification preferred or must complete training prior to line work
- Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift 10 pounds frequently
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations positively
- Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, reach frequently
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of professional kitchen experience
- Culinary training preferred
- Experience in dishwashing, prep cook, and expediting
- ServSafe training certification preferred or ability to complete certification
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and food preparation
- Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight and volume
- Ability to follow instructions on safe use of chemicals and cleaning materials
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Time management skills to meet deadlines
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and handle food products
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a positive manner
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus but not required
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
- Make only items ordered through the point of sale system and perform tasks with integrity
- Accommodate special requests with management approval to create a positive guest experience
- Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
- Cook menu items cooperatively with kitchen staff to ensure simultaneous and timely service
- Remake items when instructed by supervisor or manager
- Adhere to food safety guidelines including temperature control, labeling, and avoiding cross contamination
- Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work area during and after shifts
- Restock dry goods consistently and maintain inventory levels
- Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and track waste accurately
- Communicate inventory status with supervisors and maintain positive professional relationships
- Work safely using proper equipment and safety precautions
- Follow all opening, mid, and closing kitchen procedures
- Attend trainings and meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
