Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • able to pass criminal background check
  • willing to work non-traditional hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • able to work in a high-altitude environment
  • capable of using kitchen equipment safely
  • able to maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • good interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain a calm working environment
  • punctual and reliable
  • willing to comply with Girl Scouts of Colorado standards and values.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • minimum three months food preparation or line cook experience preferred
  • current or willingness to obtain SERV Safe certification
  • current or willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
  • minimum six months industrial kitchen experience preferred
  • experience cooking and serving large groups preferred
  • experience managing kitchen environment preferred
  • experience with restricted diets and food allergies preferred
  • proficient knowledge of sanitation and workplace safety regulations
  • basic understanding of nutrition and safe food handling practices
  • understanding of food allergies and related diseases
  • ability to comply with food safety and temperature standards
  • ability to use kitchen cleaning supplies and chemicals safely
  • ability to interpret SDS sheets
  • basic math skills preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to train staff and work efficiently under pressure
  • ability to work well in a team setting
  • maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene.

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals for 50-310 people per meal as scheduled
  • assist in meal preparation and measure ingredients accurately
  • clean, organize, and maintain kitchen, refrigerators, and storage
  • ensure compliance with CDPHE food regulations and sanitation standards
  • manage special dietary requirements including allergies and gluten-free diets with 100% accuracy
  • supervise, train, and support kitchen staff including Prep/Line Cooks and Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistants
  • perform inventory checks and assist with ordering and food storage
  • conduct quality audits including temperature checks
  • maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety
  • manage timecards and schedules
  • use digital systems such as WorkBright, Slack, and ADP
  • maintain a calm, safe, and efficient working environment
  • collaborate with Program Director on menu planning and waste reduction
  • prepare and deliver pack-out and travel food
  • complete closing duties
  • report accidents and injuries
  • uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
