Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in bartending or related food and beverage service role preferred
  • Basic Level Alcohol Service Training Certification
  • knowledge of Arizona State and Gila River Indian Community liquor laws
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in a noise and heat-exposed environment
  • ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to use POS equipment efficiently

  • Possess strong customer service and professional etiquette skills
  • reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
  • ability to multitask, be a self-starter, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Enthusiastically greets patrons to create an exciting, fun environment
  • presents drink or food menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
  • takes beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
  • serves snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar
  • collects money for drinks or food served
  • checks identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • balances cash receipts
  • attempts to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons
  • mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, prepares cocktails and other drinks
  • prepares appetizers such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats
  • slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks
  • cleans glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • serves mixed drinks, wine, and bottled or draft beer
  • continually cleans bars, work areas, and tables
  • provides ideas for and feedback on bar menus to management team
  • orders or requisitions liquors and supplies
  • arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
  • performs additional duties, although not detailed, as requested by a manager at any time
