Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in catering kitchen operations
  • ability to work full availability including weekends and holidays
  • strong cooking and food preparation skills
  • valid driver’s license
  • NYC BOH Food Handlers Certificate
  • ability to maintain sanitation standards
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties including standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in preparing a variety of foods in a catering environment
  • must be able to interact verbally and listen attentively to co-workers and supervisors
  • ability to follow written and oral direction
  • ability to work under pressure with coworkers and independently
  • valid driver’s license required
  • must have flexible availability including day shift and night shift hours, weekends and holidays
  • NYC BOH Food Handlers Certificate required
  • ServSafe and Caterease a plus

Job Duties

  • Supervise and train kitchen team to assure standards are being met
  • must be skilled in cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, boiling, baking, and braising
  • maintain catering inventory
  • ensure all products are prepared, held and served at correct temperatures
  • ensure the proper rotation, labeling and dating of all products
  • use the proper utensils and portions at all times
  • ensure all work areas are clean, sanitized and organized
  • keep management informed of food quantities and quality in prep, on the line and in holding cabinets, including responsibility of filling out all time/temperature logs
  • coordinate orders to ensure they are cooked timely and with accuracy
  • assist with re-stocking of all plate ware and food items as needed
  • implement and follow sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and/or dining areas
  • ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
  • drive safely to and from designated areas within events using company motor vehicle
  • perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required by Executive Chef
