Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous culinary experience in a commercial kitchen
- Proven ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including day, night, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced event-driven environment
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a kitchen environment
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, boiling, baking, and braising
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
- Ability to train and motivate seasonal kitchen staff
- Effective communication skills with management and team
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess a valid driver’s license for operating company vehicles
Job Duties
- Supervise and train kitchen team to assure standards are being met
- Must be skilled in cooking techniques, grilling, sauteing, boiling, baking, braising
- Maintain catering inventory
- Ensure all products are prepared, held and served at correct temperatures
- Ensure the proper rotation, labeling and dating of all products
- Use the proper utensils and portions at all times
- Ensure all work areas are clean, sanitized and organized
- Keep management informed of food quantities and quality in prep, on the line and in holding cabinets
- Coordinate orders to ensure they are cooked timely and with accuracy
- Assist with re-stocking of all plate ware and food items as needed
- Implement and follow sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and/or dining areas
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
- Drive safely to and from designated areas within events using company motor vehicle
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required by Executive Chef
