Job Requirements
- minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- three or more years of recent business tax preparation experience
- active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- available to work minimum 20 hours per week across three or more days
- must reside in the United States
- must have or be willing to obtain internet connection meeting Intuit security criteria
- must possess or be able to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally via video and audio
- knowledge of Circular 230
- proficiency in computer operations and software
Job Qualifications
- active credential such as CPA, EA, or practicing attorney
- three or more years recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) using commercial tax software
- strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations for business and personal tax returns
- minimum of two seasons personal tax preparation experience, preferred
- bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation preferred
- proficiency in use of tax preparation software and video communication tools
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- knowledge of Circular 230
- strong critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills
- capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- maintain sensitive customer, confidential and proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver accurate answers to customers using everyday language
- interact with customers virtually using video communication software
- provide tax advice, full service business return preparation and signatures
- manage product and software inquiries
- perform tax calculations and file tax extensions
- create high quality customer interactions that instill confidence using deep empathy and extensive tax knowledge
- apply defined practices and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve tax return preparation issues
- document customer interactions
- work toward meeting company key performance metrics and big bet goals
- participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed
