Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 or more years preparing federal and state business tax returns
- Minimum 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week across three or more days
- Ability to obtain any related state licenses, certificates or bonds
- Must possess or obtain active PTIN
- Must have or be willing to obtain internet connection meeting Intuit security criteria
- Ability to work independently in a virtual environment
- Strong communication skills
- Must reside in the United States
Job Qualifications
- 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax preparation software
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience with at least 30 returns per year in a tax practice or retail setting strongly preferred
- Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers preferred
- Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation preferred
- Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Proficient with technology and software
- Strong customer service skills for professional video and audio interactions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking, problem solving and research skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must reside in the United States
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable and safe manner
- Utilize government websites, professional resources and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language
- Interact with customers using state of the art video communications software
- Provide tax advice and full service business return preparation and signature
- Handle product and software inquiries
- Perform tax calculations
- Manage filing of tax extensions
- Create high quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence using deep customer empathy and extensive knowledge
- Apply defined practices, procedures and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and tax return preparation
- Document customer interactions
- Work continuously toward meeting company key performance metrics and goals
- Participate in pilot testing, projects and experience validations as needed
