Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience preparing business tax returns
  • Active CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney credential required
  • Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week across three or more days
  • Must possess or be able to obtain related state licenses and PTIN
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to use tax software and technology tools
  • Reliable internet connection that meets security requirements
  • Must be a resident of the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Strong business tax preparation experience with extensive knowledge of tax laws
  • Minimum of 3 years preparing federal and state business tax returns for partnerships and S corporations
  • Experience preparing at least 20 business tax returns per season using commercial tax software
  • Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience preferred
  • Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation preferred
  • Experience with service industry business tax returns preferred
  • Possess or obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
  • Active preparer tax identification number (PTIN)
  • Working knowledge of Circular 230
  • Proficient with technology and computer software
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must reside in the United States

Job Duties

  • Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information
  • Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to provide clear answers
  • Interact with customers using video communications software
  • Help customers with tax advice, full-service business return preparation, product/software inquiries, tax calculations, and filing tax extensions
  • Create high quality customer interactions instilling confidence through empathy and tax expertise
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and return preparation issues
  • Document customer interactions and participate in pilot testing and projects
