Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent business tax preparation experience
- At least 20 business tax returns prepared per season for compensation
- Minimum of 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week across three or more days
- Preferred bookkeeping experience related to books-to-tax preparation
- Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry clients preferred
- Must possess or be able to obtain relevant state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- Must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Proficient with computer operations and software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have or obtain internet connection meeting Intuit security criteria
- Must reside in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted credential such as CPA, EA, or practicing attorney
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations for business and personal returns
- Minimum of 3 years experience preparing federal and state business tax returns
- Experience preparing at least 20 business returns per season using commercial tax software
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficient with technology and software
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to provide accurate tax guidance in everyday language
- Interact with customers virtually using state-of-the-art video communication software to assist with tax preparation
- Provide tax advice, full service business return preparation and signature
- Manage product/software inquiries and perform tax calculations
- File tax extensions as needed
- Document customer interactions and work toward meeting company key performance metrics and goals
